Reida E. Scott-Fields, 78, Columbus, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Reida was born in London, OH on January 26, 1933, to Earl M. and Janice O. (Harris) Frey and is preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Roy F. Scott, Sr; 2nd husband, Vernon S. fields; daughters, Janice E. Scott and Marva Sutton; granddaughter, Sher'Ron Mixon and great-grandson, Kendis C. Mardis; sisters, Julia Jones, Lillian Mitchell, Peggy Miller; special friend, Aunt Sis. Survivors include daughters, Irena L. Scott-Rand and husband, James Rand, Carol L. "Katie" Hairston, Deborah "Debbie" Hudson; sons, Roy (Jessica) Scott, Jr, Thomas Carl (Joyce) Scott, Earl S. (Karen) Fields, Alan K. (Teresa) Fields, Weldon (Brenda) Fields, Vernon S. (Regina) Fields, Barry (Shirley) Mixon; sisters, Norma Jackson and Dorothy Walls; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; special friend, Traci Kelly-Fields; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Reida grew up in the Bethel Pentecostal Church of London, OH and was a very loving mother. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011, 2-6 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2011, 12:00 PM, with Visitation from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, at Higher Ground Pentecostal Church, 870 Saint Clair Avenue, Columbus, OH 43201. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
