Blankenship
Rev. Walter L. Blankenship, 81, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was born June 19, 1927, in Krolitz, W.Va., son of the late Enos and Dorcas "Dorothy" Kennedy Blankenship. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Estel, Elmer and Franklin Blankenship; sister, Maxie Lockhart. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Marine Corp. He was a minister of the Pentecostal Faith. Walter is survived by his wife, Lois Jean Ferrell Blankenship; daughters, Carol Sue Stewart and Debra Mikles; brothers, Jesse (Felica), Theodore (Gladys) and Carroll (Francell) and James Asher Blankenship; sisters, Nadine Freeman, Ila Kate (Katie) McGuinness and Peggy Sue Swetnam; grandchildren, Mickey and Angelia Garrett, Jamey Mikles, Nikki Wimmer, Larry, Marty and Christopher Baxter; twenty-one great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. Visitation will be Monday, November 3, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home S.W. Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
