Richard A. "Bootsie" Yates, 53, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Bootsie was born in Columbus, OH, to the late Everett and Margaret (Nutini) Yates on October 23, 1957. Survivors include his life partner of 14 years, Penny Rumer; her children, Marcus, Donald, Preston, Eddie and Crystal; sisters, Carol (Jim) Worley and Sandy (Terry) Luft; brothers, Darrell (Judy) Yates and Bill (Angie) Yates; nieces, nephews and many friends. He worked at Scioto Downs and Roth Produce for many years. A Memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011, from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at his nieces home, 98 Blacks Road, Pataskala, OH 43062. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tamara Yates, P.O. Box 302, Pataskala, OH 43062, to help off set final expenses. Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH is honored to serve the Yates Family.
