AKERS
Richard Akers of Worthington, Ohio passed away on March 24, 2006 surrounded by loving family. After serving in the US Marine Corp, special forces, settled in Ohio, started a new career in the steel industry , and met and married the love of his life, Patricia Engberg Akers, who survives his death along with his son, Jacob Akers, stepson, Andrew Engberg, sister Betty Akers Brown, brother James Curtis Akers and nieces and nephews of Roanoke, VA. Preceded in death by his parents Ray and Emily Akers and brother Claude Akers. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Monday, March 27th at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 28th at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1300 Urban Dr., Columbus, with Father Mark Ghiloni officiating. Interment will take place in Cheshire Cemetery with Military honors observed.
