Richard Taylor Brown

Richard Taylor Brown, age 86 of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Greenbackville, Virginia passed away peacefully with his wife by his side December 19, 2023. Rich was born November 8, 1937, in Gary, Indiana to Guy and Olive Brown. Rich was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bill and Sister Ellen. Rich leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Nell Brown, daughter Christina, brother in laws, sister-in-law and several nieces, nephews and other family members and good friends. Rich enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time on the water, which is why he and Nell retired in a home on the water in Virginia. Rich started his career with Conrail Railroad (formerly Pennsylvania Railroad) in the mail room working his way up to retire 39 years later as the regional director of budgets of the eastern region. His wife and family would like to thank Suncrest Hospice and Cherry Blossom Senior Center for their loving care of Rich in his final years. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Suncrest Hospice of Columbus. Upon Rich's wishes, a dignity cremation will take place by Newcomer Funeral Home in Columbus, Ohio.
