Richard P. Capocciama "Cappy," 84, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by parents, Peter and Filomena Capocciama; brothers, Peter, John, Anthony, Dominic, and Carmen; sisters, Tomasina Tata and Josephine Newton; daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Joy.
Cappy is survived by children, Toni (Bill Robinson) Capocciama, Stephanie (Dan) Hackett, and Rick (Katie) Capocciama; loving ex-wife, Carole Capocciama; grandchildren, Jessica and Alexandria Lantz, Nick and Vinny Craft, Samantha, Danny, Joey, and Jack Hackett, Anthony, Giovanni, and Dominic Capocciama; great-grandchildren, Gianna, William, and Colton; brother, Guy (Barbara) Capocciama; many nieces and nephews, other extended family and friends.
Cappy grew up in south Columbus and attended St. Mary's High School. He went to CCAD for drafting and started working for Allied Sink Top Company. After moving to Grove City he started Capocciama Custom Cabinets where he was a staple in Grove City for over 25 years. Cappy was a member of Sertoma of Grove City. He retired and worked part time at Roxanne's where he was able to continue to share his unique sense of humor. Cappy enjoyed restoring classic Mustangs and T-Birds and attending numerous car shows.
He had a large love for his family and will be missed by all of them.
Visitation Monday, June 21, 2021 from 5pm until the time of Funeral Service at 7pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. He will be privately laid to rest with his parents at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH.
