Richard E. Curry Sr., 83, of Columbus, passed away Friday, December 21, 2007 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born June 8, 1924, in Glenford, son of the late David and Grace King Curry . In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Fisher Curry; brother, Willard; sisters, Helen Walser and Sylvia Broadhurst. He had 22 years of service in the Navy, serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Richard also had 22 years of service with the Post Office. Richard is survived by his sons, Richard (Valerie) Jr., Dennis, David and Ronald Curry; daughters, Linda Curry, Audrey Hodge and Diane Curry; brothers, Ronald, Donald, Paul, David Jr. and Dr. Robert Curry; sisters, Dorothy Mather, Mary Merryman, Edith Laird and Eileen Hunter; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 4:00-8:00 PM and also on Friday, December 28, 2007 from 10:00-12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home N.E. Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus. Funeral service will be Friday, December 28, 2007 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Northlawn Memory Gardens.
