Richard Charles Gray Sr.

Richard Charles Gray, Sr., known to most as Charles, 70, of Columbus, passed away on January 19, 2025. He was born in Logan, West Virginia to Richard L. and Lahoma (Carter) Gray. He married Patricia Lee on November 15, 2011, and she preceded him in death on July 17, 2018.

Along with his mother, Charles is survived by siblings, Deborah Gray, Katherine Sowers, niece Shelby Wutzler and nephews Dillon Wutzler and Zackery Wutzler and many other family members and friends. Along with his father and wife, Charles was preceded in death by daughter Tonya Gray.

After graduating high school, Charles went on to attend trade school becoming a Mechanic. He served the Greater Columbus area and their vehicles for over 40 years. When he wasn’t working, Charles loved to work on car and hang out with friends. 

Immediate family will greet friends and family from 2pm to 3pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions – Columbus, Northeast at 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231. A service to honor Charles life will be held at 3pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, also at the funeral home. A private burial will occur at a later date at Mifflin Cemetery.
