Richard D. Hartman

Richard Dale Hartman age 90, was reunited with the love of his life on February 9, 2024 with his children by his side. He was born to his parents Ralph Hartman and Agnes Fish on February 13, 1933.

Richard lived a life of service to his community, which encompassed 30 years with the Columbus Division of Police. In his tenure, he was an integral part of establishing the dive team, supervising the homicide section, commanding the swat team, flying helicopters, and retiring honorably as a commander in 1991. Richard was an accomplished aviator designing and building his own aircraft that he flew all over Ohio and neighboring states. He was a family man, he cherished his children and deeply loved his wife. Richard and his wife enjoyed traveling, RVing, and dancing across Texas.

Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 70 years Virginia Hartman, son Richard Hartman II, parents and brother. Richard is survived by his children Deborah Seniuk, Patricia (Samuel) Grubbs, Anne (Robb) Rothschild, Sandra (James) Jardine, Jane (Duane) Ohly, Jean (Robert) Sowers, Daughter-in-law Seana Hartman; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, brother Raymond Hartman, and sister Mary Lou Rowan.

The family will be holding a celebration of life on his birthday.
