Richard L. Robinson, 86, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2009, in the company of his loving family. Born to the late Alvin G. and Martha A. (Guenther) Robinson in Phillipsburg, PA on September 16, 1922, "Robby" is survived by his daughters, Sharon (Clive) Cooper and Gail (Valente) Alvarez; grandchildren, Miguel (Olga) Alvarez, Daniel and Elizabeth Alvarez; former wife, Doris (Crawford) Robinson; extended family and friends. Robby was a naval aviator from 1945 until 1958 and then was employed by the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller for 19 years at Detroit Metro Airport. He was a member of Allen Park VFW, Wyandotte Power Squadron, Nomads Travel Club and Over-the-Hill Ski Gang. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Unmet Needs Fund c/o Ohio VFW, P.O. Box 15219, Columbus, OH 43215-0219. Private inurnment will be at Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, OH. Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH is honored to serve the Robinson Family.
