Richard E. Michaels, Sr. passed from this life at 92 years old, on June 5, 2023. He was born in Warren, Ohio on October 9, 1931 to William and Mabel Michaels. While attending Warren Harding High School, he met the love of his life, Gloria Hunter.
While he was on a one week leave of absence from the Air Force, they were married on March 4, 1951 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Warren, Ohio. Their two sons, Richard, Jr. (of Redding, California) and William (of Galena, Ohio) were born during Richard's time of service in the Air Force where he was a Staff Sergeant in charge of the Air Crash Rescue Squad at Turner Air Force Base in Albany, Georgia.
After serving his four year tour of duty, he and his family returned to Warren, Ohio where Richard and Gloria lived for the rest of their lives.
Richard was employed at Packard Electric. After working in several differing functions at Packard Electric, he finished his career at Packard as a graphic artist. He was well known for his creative art work and his ability to draw amazing caricatures.
Richard loved to travel, gab with friends, and spend time with family. He and his family were active members of Living Lord Lutheran Church in Howland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria.
