Richard A. "Rick" Jones, 63, of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Born to John K. "Jack" and Lucille (Kennedy) Jones in Columbus on July 17, 1945, Rick is preceded in death by his father; daughter, Stephanie Jones; brother, John Kendrick Jones. Survivors include his wife, Diana (Cooper) Jones; mother, Lucille Jones; daughters, Heather (Curt) Gabes, Misti (Mike Bowen) Jones, Kimberly Jones, Billie (Chuck Guthrie) Rogers; son, Douglas (Teressa) Jones; sister, Terry (Steve) Adams; brothers, David (Jill) Jones and Barry (Starla) Jones; 6 grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Rick spent his entire career in the food service industry working for Chef's Pantry and Land-O-Frost. After retiring, Rick drove a bus for COTA Mainstream. Rick was a member of the Moose Lodge 1427 and AMVETS Post 89. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Gabriel will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick's name may be made to HomeReach Hospice, 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43214.
