Ricky E. Mathews (Matthews)

Ricky Mathews (Matthews), age 64, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Friday, January 26, 2018. He was born on March 26, 1953 in Columbus, OH.

Rick enjoyed spending time with his family, working on cars and riding his Harley. He will be remembered as someone who always put others needs first. He would drop everything to run to the aid of family, friends and strangers.


Surviving family includes children Ricky Matthews, Michelle Matthews and Amanda Mathews; step-son, Leonard (Charity) Blevins; grandchildren, Brittany McKay, Collin Matthews, Summer Manicho, Justin Manicho, Torri Jones, Ethan Randazzio, Jacob Blevins and Emily Blevins; sister, Christine (David) Pence; brothers, Warren (Judy) Matthews and Robert Elswick; 6 great-grandchildren along with many adoring nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends & neighbors who have helped Rick along the way. Special Thank You to the Wiles family, the Marcum family and the Allen family.

Preceded in death by wife, Barbara Mathews; parents, Helen and Robert Mullins, Warren Matthews; brother, Ronnie Matthews.


Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.at Newcomer Grove City, 3393 Broadway.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment to follow at McConkey Cemetery, Catawba, OH.
