Rita Stewart

Rita was born August 17, 1937 in Pike County, Kentucky to Charlie Robinson and Ella Duncan Robinson. She moved to Columbus, Ohio as a young lady and began working in her aunt's diner where she met her future husband Albert Stewart. They set up home in the north end of Columbus, where she found her true passion, being a mother to her four children. As a devout Christian she was a lifetime member of Life Church at Easton where she enjoyed many events with her church family.


She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Stewart, grandson Travis Stewart, siblings Maggie Glossip, Wilburn Robinson, Arlan Robinson and Georgia Ann Robinson. She is survived by her sisters Joyce Eddy, Mae Dube, brother Robbie Robertson and sister-in-law Ruth Stewart; her children Gary (Shirley) Stewart, Sherry (Tom) Glover, Terry (Rhonda) Stewart and Larry (Deanna) Stewart; grandchildren Kelly (Alex), Nicole (Clay), Pammie, Cameron, Nick (Alisa), Preston, Jessica, Zach (Chrysta), Karrington, Angel, Rosie, Skye, David and Sierra; four great grandchildren Lily, Naiomi, Raelynn and Colton; best friend Annette Boy and her dog Valentine .


Visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home (10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, Ohio) on Thursday, March 30th from 1pm-3 and 5pm-7pm. Funeral Service at Life Church at Easton (5000 Sunbury Road, Columbus, Ohio) on Friday, March 31st at 11am with graveside service to follow at Glen Rest Cemetery in Reynoldsburg. Family will also receive friends for fellowship and meal following the service on Friday at Trinity Assembly of God (1112 Demorest Road #7003, Columbus, Ohio).


Pallbearers will be Larry Stewart, Tom Glover, Bill Loar, Alex Taylor, Nick Stewart, Zach Stewart, Preston Snipes, and Cameron Stewart.
