Rita Y. Jacobs, age 79, of Galloway, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Monterey Care Center after a courageous battle with Alzheimers. She was born on August 7, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Levi Edwards and Mary Ethel Dean Lowe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Jacobs; brothers, Charles, Victor, Willard, Lee, and Woodrow Lowe; and sisters, Aileen Lowe, and Julia Irene Mathy. Survivors include her children, David (Pam) Sargent, Dana Sargent, and Diane Thacker; sister in-law Millie Hendricks, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rita was a lifelong member of Gender Road Christian Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 9:30AM until time of funeral service at 10:30AM at Gender Road Christian Church, 5336 Gender Road, Canal Winchester, Ohio. Pastor Kay McGlinchey officiating. Interment will follow at Obetz Cemetery, Obetz, Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel.
