Robert A. Strickland Sr., 79, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at his residence. He was born August 24, 1928, in Oak Hill, OH., son of the late Robert Lee and Nancy Cassidy Strickland. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne, John, Bill, Charlie and Paul; sisters, Emma, Nancy, Margaret, Anna, Paula and Grace. He is survived by his wife, Collette Acocella Strickland; sons, Robert (Robyn) Strickland Jr. and Jeffrey (Jandi) Strickland; daughter, Freida (James) Woodrow; sister, Patty Stapleton; grandchildren, Shannon and Clyde Blake, Bobbie Gail, Wesley, Justin and Jeremy Strickland, Alison Hunter and one great grandchild. Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2007 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home N.E. Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus. Funeral service will be Friday, October 19, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park.
