Robert E. Archer, 80, of Westerville, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2008. Born to the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Dieher) Archer on December 24, 1927, in Detroit, MI, Bob was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna M. (Simon) Archer and a sister, Lois Jean Burns. Survivors include his daughter, Walenda "Lynn" Archer; nephew, John Gibson; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Donald Walton and Elton "Cy" Pierce. Bob served in the Army during WWII and worked as an engraver for the Columbus Dispatch for 28 years. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2008, 5-8PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the funeral service on Monday, June 30, 2008, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
