Robert "Bud" Eugene Chambers was born July 15, 1934, in Colerain, Ohio, to James Paul and Georgia Hall Chambers (both deceased). He is survived by his devoted wife, Ruth Ann Hanson Chambers, who he was married to for 68 years. He is also survived by his five children, Donald Eugene Chambers (wife Diane), David James Chambers (wife Tina), Diane Chambers Dierks (husband Eric), Robert Alan Chambers (wife Eliana), and Jodi Chambers Festog (husband Trent). He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Tracey Chambers, Crystal Chambers Tierney, Laura Gargala Goldstein, Justin Gargala, Davey Chambers, Tyler Lewis, Taylor Chambers, Nikki Longenette Browning, Maria Camilla Baena Maya; and five great-grandchildren, James Weigand, Josh Weigand, Rachel Goldstein, Ashley Goldstein, and Nora Browning. He was preceded in death by his brother Roy Chambers and his sister Mildred Chambers Cerreta.
Bud was a well-respected custom home building contractor, who began his career as a carpenter's apprentice in the 1950s. He formed his eastern-Ohio business, C&H Building Contractors, in the 1960s, partnering with his father-in-law, David Hanson. They remained in business together until David's retirement, when Bud's father, James Chambers, partnered in the business with him. Bud and Ruth semi-retired in the mid-1980s and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, when their son, Dave, assumed the business of C&H Building, following in his dad's footsteps, and continues to successfully run it today. Bud and Ruth retired and returned to Ohio in 1999 to live near their daughter, Jodi and her family, where they lived until Bud's passing.
Those who knew Bud would agree he was a man of principle and integrity, had an amazing work ethic, and could be a perfectionist to a fault, which earned him a spotless reputation as a builder. He cared about doing the right thing in business and in his personal life, but if you could ask him what mattered most, he would say his family meant more to him than anything, and his highest hope was for their peace, happiness and security.
