BROWN
Robert Cleveland Brown, 86 years, resident of Orient, went peacefully to the Lord on Saturday, March 20th, 2010. He served in WWII, The Korean Conflict and Vietnam, and retired from the Air Force after 26 years. Bob always showed the best face of America to the world, touching lives especially in his ESL classes in post-war Japan and Vietnam.
A "C" student in high school, he excelled to earn a MA in history from Harvard. He loved jazz, wrote a novel, believed every citizen's responsibility to be an informed voter, never dodged jury duty and passionately read everything from history to science fiction. He is remembered as a soldier, scholar, patriot, outdoorsman, storyteller, animal lover, but most of all, as a devoted husband, father and friend to many.
Bob is greatly missed by Jane (Bugaj), his wife of 54 years, John Sidney (Mary) Brown, daughter, Patricia (R.A. Schobert) Brown, step daughter, Anne (Ray) Pignataro, grandchildren: Brandon (Tarrah) Schobert, Robert Schobert, Steven (Lori) Riekert, Kris Ann (Christopher) Brightbill, Dawn (Tommy) Sullivan, brother, and many other family and friends.
