Robert B. Cummings, Sr., 75, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 in Westerville, Ohio.
He was born February 12, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to Robert W. and Mary Cummings.
Robert is survived by his wife, Perla A. Cummings; children, Rebecca (Patrick) Dugan Patterson, Robert B. Cummings, Jr., Lisa (Scott) Cummings-Dye, Christopher (Esther) Cummings; grandchildren, Kyle (Nadia) Dugan, Phillip Dugan, Matthew Dye, Abigail Dye, Bronowyn (Christopher) Echevarria, Jared Dye, Damascus Cummings; great-grandchildren, Conrad Dugan, Oliver Dugan; brothers, Glen (Ellie) Cummings, Kenneth (Ramona) Cummings and a host of family and friends.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. Cummings and Mary Beane, and his sister, Joyce Hale.
Robert graduated from Westerville High School in 1966. He resided in Westerville where he worked for Fruehauf.
Robert served his country with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a proud member and past commander of the Ellis E. Woodrow Memorial VFW Post 7883 and American Legion Young-Budd Post 171.
A loving father, Robert cherished his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed working in his yard, singing with his beloved wife Perla, assisting the elderly, studying scripture, and ministering to others.
Robert was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be sorely missed.
Family will receive friends on Friday, September 2, 2022, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231, with a funeral service immediately following at 12pm.
Robert will be laid to rest at Northlawn Memory Gardens at 1:00 p.m.
