Robert Preston Dillard, Jr.

Robert Preston Dillard, Jr., 73, of Columbus, passed away on January 14, 2025. He was born in Pocahontas, Virginia on April 11, 1951 to the late Robert Preston and Louise (Horton) Dillard, Sr. He married Nora L. Spencer on January 31, 1975, and she survives. 

Along with his loving wife, Nora; Robert is survived by sons, Charles Dillard, and John Dillard; daughter, Maia Dillard; grandchildren, Shia, Kaia, Ty, Shawnae, Morgan, Dominique, Mikita, Bonita, and Daykayle; Great grandchildren, Journee and Ja’shawn; siblings, Olivia (James) Rusher, Wanda Dillard, William (Michelle) Dillard, Darcel (Derek) Dillard-Suite, Janie (Ramon) Dillard-Mcgee, Anthony (Kelly) Dillard; and many other family members and friends. 

Along with his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his daughter Usha Dillard, brother Charles Dillard, and nephew William Dillard II

Robert has served for over 40 years as an Electrician in the Columbus area. He was part of the IBEW Local 683 union. When he wasn’t at work, Robert loved to watch football, watch science fiction, volunteer, help others, and spend time with his family. 

A service to honor Robert’s life is pending with Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions – Northeast, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, 43231. Burial to follow service at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
