Robert E. Basil, 87, passed away December 11, 2012 at their winter home in Venice, Florida. He was born July 24, 1925 in McGuffey, Ohio.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph A. and Sylvia L. Basil; brothers, George, Roger, Richard and sister, Leora. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Phyllis; children, Steven R. (Marna) Basil, Kathleen (Dan Tigner) Basil, Kristine B. (Buzz) Wright and Karen (Donald) Crabbe; grandchildren, Nancy, Brian, Chad, April, Angie, Nick, Lyndsey, Ashley and Greg; 13 great-grandchildren and many beloved cousins from Hardin and Auglaize Counties, Ohio and many friends in Central Ohio and Venice, Florida. Robert was a proud member of Bricklayers Local #55.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 17, 2012 at the funeral home with Entombment immediately following at Sunset Cemetery.
