Robert L. Franz, 69, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born July 19, 1940, in Columbus, son of the late Robert L. and Florence Franz. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Karen; daughters, Kerri (Larry) Ruehs of AZ and Andrea (Scott) Harkless of Grove City; granddaughters, Shelby Ruehs and Courtney Harkless; brothers, Ronald (Carole) Franz and Michael Franz both of Pickerington; sisters-in-law, Sharon Satterfield, JoAnne Burke and many nieces, nephews and close friends. He retired from ODOT and was employed by Columbus Fair Auto Auction. Robert was also a member and past trustee of Columbia Heights United Methodist Church, Shamrock Club of Columbus and Don Gentile American Legion. He enjoyed pizza, beer, sports, golf, fishing and spending time with Courtney. Memorial service will be Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Columbia Heights United Methodist Church, 775 Galloway Rd., with Pastor Ed Lewis, officiating and visitation one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Columbia Heights United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 327 Galloway, OH 43119.
