Robert "Bob" Lothamer, 87, of Columbus, passed away November 3, 2018.
Bob was born September 19, 1931 to Norman and Ruth "Peg" (Brady) Lothamer.
He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School where he excelled at sports. Bob was recruited and played for the East Side Merchants, a Semi Pro football team. He proudly served as a paratrooper with the 187th RCT in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a concrete finisher for Del Col and Guzzo for 27 years. He also supervised maintenance for St. Catherine's Church, School and Convent in Columbus for 18 years where he was known as "Mr. Bob". He served as an officer for many years at the Inner Circle Bass Club. He bowled in a league at HP Lanes where he and his partner won the 2018 summer championship. Bob also served as an Usher at the 5 O'clock Mass at St. Anthony's.
He was married to Janet (Bauer) for 45 years.
Bob will be deeply missed by his children Cherryl (George) Tankovich, Michael (Lin) Lothamer, Becky (Steve) Olson, Daniel Lothamer, Amy (David) DiGeronimo grandchildren Leah (Chris) Deason, Karin, Kristin and Kari Olson, Sebastian Lothamer and Emily and Jacob DiGeronimo great-grandchildren Autumn Johnson (Deason), Brayden Deason and Caleb Speaks and many nieces and nephews and his cousins Mike (Carolyn) Kuli and Sandra Campbell.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son Steven.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Newcomer NE Chapel 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus.
Mass of Christian Burial services will be Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 10am at St. Anthony 1300 Urban Dr. Columbus with Father Thomas Petry officiating.
Burial will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society and Wounded Warriors.
