Robert W. Melvin, 73, passed away Oct. 15, 2015. He is survived by wife, Debra K. Chester; father-in-law, Wilson E. Black; mother-in-law, Betty L. Black; sister-in-law, Terry Poole; brothers-in-law, Kenny Poole and Roger Black; son, Robert Kyle Simmons; daughters, Tamala L. Chester and Tina M. Chester; grandchildren, Jacob Root, Leann Buskirk, Trinity Church, Xavier Deal; great-grandchildren, Aiden Root, Kiera Roberts, and Marshawn Montgomery.
Robert served his country in the US Army as a combat engineer during the Vietnam War. He was a very hard worker and always made sure his wife and family came first. He always said, "If a man made it, he could fix it." Robert will be greatly missed and loved forever.
