Robert Henry Monaghan II (age 85) of Grove City, OH, passed away suddenly on July 4, 2021. He was born March 1, 1936, the son of Robert Henry Monaghan (deceased) and Virginia Spears Monaghan (deceased). In 1958, he wed the love of his life, Virginia Ann Parker, and they spent 57 years together until her death in 2016.
Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son and brother, a veteran who served America, in the Korean Conflict with the Navy and a man of strong faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ.
He is preceded in death by son, Robert Henry Monaghan III, grandson Robert Thompson, sister Betty Barrett, and brother John Monaghan.
Robert is survived by brother, Jack (Lois) Monaghan, sister Roberta (Frank) Washburn, son, Steve (Kelly) Monaghan, daughter, Jodie Thompson, daughter in law, Kathy Collura Monaghan, granddaughter, Cindi (Mathew) Fitzpatrick, grandsons; Michael (Amanda) Monaghan, Richard (Stephanie) Thompson, and Jacob (Stephanie) Thompson. He was the adored "Grandpa-Great" to Madison, Brynleigh, Cora, Corbin, Erin, Savannah and Declan, the great grandchildren, whom he called his "Angels". He will be deeply missed as well by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family members, and friends.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, July 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer-SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway in Grove City.
The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Newcomer-SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway in Grove City followed by procession to Forest Lawn Cemetery.
