Robert Parsons, 80, of Johnstown, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 30, 1932 in Columbus, son of the late Robert and Ruth Helcher Parsons.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his grandson, Daniel Parsons.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nancy Nehr Parsons; sons, Robert (Tammy) Parsons, Daniel (Mari) Parsons and Kenneth (Jenni) Parsons; daughter, Diana (Steve) Husk; brother, James (Ken Nigh) Parsons; sisters, Connie (Tim) Moneymaker and Mary D. Anderson; grandchildren, Angie (Shane) Mehok, Sarah (Chad) Darr, Kristin (Leonard) Kinzel, Steven (Beth) Husk, Jacob (Caitlin) Husk, Melissa (Devin) Miller, Leah Parsons, Matthew Parsons, Samantha (Ricky) Schultz, Cody McCloy and Andy Parsons; great grandchildren, Drew, Madison, Liam, Brennan, Kaylee, Emily, Bryan, Lucas, Ethan, Haley, Chloe, Cole, Aubri, Donovan, Jaelynn, Emma, Beau, Tate and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Robert's name or in the name of your own family member who may have had cancer.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
