Chaplain Robert N. Perkins, age 75, of Circleville, Ohio passed away on 28 April, 2024. He died at Pickaway Manor Nursing Facility. He was born 25 June 1948 to the late Dr. Neal C. Perkins and Janet (Gleason) Perkins. He had a brother the late Dr. Paul C. Perkins.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Susan (Fleming) Perkins, two sisters Mary (Paul) Hyslop, and Carolyn Perkins. Robert has two children Jennifer (Brian Mathus) Perkins and Aaron (Sophie Simonard) Perkins, and three grandchildren.
Robert Perkins was a graduate of Fairview High School, Dayton, Ohio, Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio, United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio and Command and General Staff College Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard for 37 years. Perkins was also the Chaplain at Southeastern Correctional Institution for 13 years.
Robert enjoyed woodworking, photography, playing the bass guitar, foreign and domestic travel, acting at the RoundTown Players in Circleville, and S.C.U.B.A. diving.
There will be a Celebration of Life for him on 15 May 2024 at the St. John Church of the Way at 11450 Brown St. S.W. in Stoutsville, Ohio. There will be time to meet with the family before the 11:00AM service. There will be a lunch provided following the service.
