Robert "Alan" Schmidt, 51, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010 at St. Ann's. He was born July 6, 1958, in Columbus, son of the late William Robert and Anna Delgarn Schmidt. In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by his brother, William J. Schmidt and sister, Joyce Ann Dennison. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan. Alan also enjoyed fishing and sitting around campfires. He is survived by his brother, Karl (Tina) Schmidt of Columbus; sisters, Ella Sue (Richard Allen) Fletcher of Hickory, MS, Linda (James) Milligan of Columbus and Anna Jane (Michael) Uribe of Columbus; brother-in-law, Michael Cassidy of Columbus and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
