Robert Smith, 71, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Mt. Carmel West. He was born June 10, 1937, in Camp Creek, OH, son of the late Elwood and Katherine Roberts Smith. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by an infant son, Bobby and brother, Mackie Smith. He retired from the City of Columbus with over 35 years of service. Robert is survived by his wife, Delores; daughter, Shirley (Gary) Partlow, Stephanie (Roger) Smith and Roberta (Michael) Sloan; brother, Larry Wayne (Diane) Smith; sisters, Vickie (Michael) Oliver and Barb (Jeff) Young; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Howard Cameron, officiating. Interment will be in Grove City Cemetery.
