CSM Robert "Bob" Eugene Speakman, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2021. He was born to Howard and Ruth Ann (nee Miller) Speakman on January 17, 1940. At the age of 17, Bob joined the Air Force, where he served for four years; he then went on to join the United States Army as a paratrooper for a total of a 30 year military career. His accomplishments include: Bronze Star medal with three oak leaf clusters, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service medal, and many, many more. He was inducted into the Ohio Military Hall of Fame in 2007 and a Vietnam War Hero.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Sisters, Carolyn Courtright Speakman and Reata (Steve) Crabtree; Brother, Ronnie Speakman; and Nephew, Todd. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Speakman, an Air Force Veteran; children: Tonyia (John) Ward-Bundy and Joey (Shauna) Steele; grandchildren: Faith, Joey Jr., and Brooke. He is also survived by siblings: Harold (Alice) Speakman and Harvey (Kay) Speakman; sisters, Linda (Mike) Monfort and Dorothy McClintick.
In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to The Grove City Church of God in Bob's name. There will be no local funeral arrangements at this time, burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. "Airborne all the way!"
