Robert Swisher

Robert "Burly" J. Swisher passed away May 8, 2021, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Burly was born July 5, 1946 to Violet "Skippy" Weber, in Gary, Indiana.

He is survived by his wife Connie Swisher; children Dawn Marie Raleigh, Samuel James Swisher, Candice Michele White; grandchildren Ashlee (Donald and Ari) Skalka and Roman Samuel White.

Burly was an incredibly driven, hard-working, family man. He had two special gifts: fixing things and making amazing life-long friends. His caring and compassionate nature would shine through, in his willingness to help not only friends and family, but complete strangers as well. Whether it be stopping to help someone stranded in a broken-down vehicle, or simply repairing bikes and toys for neighborhood children; Burly used his gift to help others whenever he could.

He had an incredible passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles, and classic cars. He loved to watch racing but he was happiest playing with his grandson or in his garage; working on his next project.

Burly retired from Sloter Concrete but he truly enjoyed working at Uhaul after his retirement

In lieu of flowers, we ask friends and family please donate to the amazing staff of Bella Care Hospice in Burly's honor. They were beyond wonderful during his final days.

There will be a gathering on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer-SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway in Grove City, Ohio.
