Robert W. Leist, 70, of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born to Forrest and Margaret (Whetsel) Leist in Columbus on January 9, 1938. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Evans. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betti (Crabtree) Leist; daughters, Tina Ferguson and Angela (Carl) Johnson; sons, Robert (Rose) Leist and William Leist; sister, Charlene (Wayne) Brenner; grandchildren, Tony, Dan, Megan, Amber, Brittney, Christina, and Anna; numerous family members, friends, and "Schmidty". Bob was a true buckeye fan whether it be football or basketball and was a long time member of Teamsters #413. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2008, 4-6 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH, with a memorial service to follow at 6 PM. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Grant Hospital CHF Clinic for their many acts of kindness.
