MCCORKLE

Robert W. McCorkle, 85, Groveport and formerly of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born to George and Marie (Knadler) McCorkle in Chillicothe on April 14, 1925, and is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Barbara and Eunice; three brothers, George Jr., Rockford and Melvin. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Bernadine (Bristley) McCorkle; daughters, Lynn (Steve) Lilly and Brenda (Paul) Nixon; son, Rob (Cindy) McCorkle II; sisters, Theresa, Virginia, Violet and Vera; brother, Paul; grandchildren, Lynsey, Laura, Ryan, Wesley and Jesse; three great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Bob, a graduate of Chillicothe High School, served in the Army during WWII in the South Pacific, worked in various positions in the construction field and carried his knowledge and skills into nine foreign mission fields. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2010, 4-7PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. In addition, visitation will be held on Monday, August 9, 2010, 4-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH with the Funeral Service on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, 11:00 AM at the SW Chapel. Pastor Rob McCorkle will officiate. Interment will follow at Obetz Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to the Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene, Building Fund, P.O.
