Robert E. Wentzel, 84, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II on U.S.S. Cabot CVL-28. Lifetime member of AMVETS Post #89. Retired from Jeffrey Manufacturing after 38 years. Member of St. Luke's Luthern Church. Preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Lucille Wentzel, wife, Erma L. Puckett. Robert is survived by loving wife, Eleanor; sons, Robert A. (Diana), David (Vickey), and Glenn (Sue); daughter, Lisa Jones; grandchildren, Greg, Tedra, Seth (Trisha), Michael, Matthew Wentzel and Robin Jones; numerous step children; 4 brothers and sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call from 2-4PM and 6-8PM, Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231 where the funeral will take place at 1PM on Friday. Pastor Steve Brown officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250 www.dav.org
