Robert Willie Sr., 81, of Columbus, passed away Monday, August 20, 2007 at his residence. He was born September 12, 1925, in Columbus, son of the late Robert and Sarah Jane Evans Willie. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Rayman and brothers-in-law, Shorty Rayman and Tom Davis. He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Alpha Club, Moose, Eagles and Amvets. Robert was also a member of the State Fast Pitch Softball Ohio Hall of Fame. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid hunter. Robert is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Jones Willie; sons, Rob (Lisa) Willie Jr. and Andy (Kelli) Willie; sister, Lillian G. Davis; grandchildren, Robert Willie III, Michael Willie, Candice White, Sarah Willie and Alex Willie; great grandson, Aason White; sisters-in-law, Martha Cook and Ruth Ann Thompson; brothers-in-law, Charles Jones and Terry Lee (Carol) Jones; nephews, Tommy (Carolyn) Davis and Milton (Sharon) Rayman; niece, Jennifer (Doug) Hodge. Visitation will be Thursday, August 23, 2007 from 6:00-8:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home N.E. Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus. Funeral service will be Friday, August 24, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Blendon Central Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice.
