Robert Eugene Wilson (Bob), ascended on his 83rd birthday, January 24, 2022, in Westerville, Ohio in the presence of family. Bob leaves behind his wife Phyllis of 64 years; sons Tim (Kathy), Andrew (Heidi); daughters Margo (Mark) Chaney, Patti (Kim) Wilson; grandchildren Sara (Justin) Willhite, Mason (Abbie) Boggs, Meghan Wilson, Anna Wilson, and Zac Wilson; along with great-grandchildren Austin Willhite and Ethan Willhite. He is further survived by brothers Kenneth, David (Loretta), Carl (Melody), and John (Rita) along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Percy and Mary Wilson; brothers Charles, Everett, and Richard; sisters Edna Mae (Gene) Lamp, and Francis Wilson.

Bob was born in Newark, Ohio and graduated from Lynwood Jacksontown High School in 1957. He was a member of the Ohio Army National Guard in Newark, Ohio and served for 17 years as Staff Sargent at the 737th Maint. Bn. during the Korean conflict and Vietnam war. He also served one term as a Newark City Councilman starting in 1972.

Bob worked for G.E. Superabrasives for 18 years, retiring in 1998. After retiring he volunteered and worked at the Gillie Senior Community Center preparing meals and providing companionship for Columbus seniors. He was a member of North Church, Columbus and formerly a member of Christian Community Church, Westerville where he served and volunteered in numerous areas. He also was an active member in the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship for many years.

Bob was outgoing, kind, patriotic and showed generosity to others throughout his life. He coached many young people in multiple sports and was a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

A private service will be held at Newcomer Funeral home in Columbus, Ohio on Tuesday, February 8th.
