Roger Dale Askew, 72, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on November 27, 2021 at Doctors West Hospital.
He was born on January 17, 1949, in Akron, Ohio, to Marjorie Fry and Wilton Askew.
Roger served 20 years in the United States Army. He was a Vietnam veteran and a Purple Heart recipient.
He was later employed for 20 years by the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities (FCBDD).
He is preceded in death by his mother Marjorie;father Wilton;sisters Barbara Jean and Florence; and brother Ralph.
Survived by his loving wife Elana, of 40 years; sister Margie; and children Chuck (Cheryl) Neal, John (Anita) Neal, Mary (Bill) Fillinger, Jim (Sandy) Neal, Mike (Victoria) Neal; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchild whom he dearly adored and many other loving family members and friends.
Per Roger's request there will be no calling hours or services.
There will be a celebration of life with family and friends at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.
