Roger A. Burket, 78 (though he'd tell you 24), passed away September 7th, 2022. Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Mary Burket, he is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years Leah (aka La), his three children Marianne (Mark), Richard (Vicki), and Kristin (Adam), six grandchildren Lindsey (Colby), Kelsey, Trevor, Kaylee (aka Kiki), Lukas, and Alissa, one great grandson Oliver, his brother Ron, and countless friends and family throughout Ohio and beyond. He graduated from Grove City High School and spent over 40 years working at Jegs automotive building race cars and later special projects for the Coughlin family. After retiring, instead of taking it easy at home, he made it his mission to always be on the move, whether that was grabbing a meal at one of his favorite restaurants with his favorite waitress (of which there were many), helping and sometimes annoying his son in his workshop, harassing the members of City Council, or creating something amazing with his hands. He loved to sit for hours in a bubbler and talk with anyone and everyone, travel the world with his wife and family, and in another life it is certain he would have been a Disney Imagineer. Aside from his family, he loved Disney most of all, falling in love with every movie, every park, and every ride. He learned to trapeze, unicycle and zipline, built his own car (the Bad Egg and it's sequels), created an art installation for the new Grove City Library, crafted a duo of monster costumes that continue to steal the show every Halloween, and spent nearly every Sunday of the summer at the Park of Roses listening to their concert series. He was the absolute best husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend anyone could ever ask for and his family knows they have to be extra fun to attempt to compensate for his absence. He's off to slay dragons, and maybe leap a tall building or two.
