Pastor Roger L. McCoy, age 60, was called away to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 28, 2009 at his residence. Pastor McCoy has been in the Lord's service over 33 years. Together with his beloved wife, Judy, The Way of Deliverance Church was founded. It is located at 1159 Demorest Rd. He was preceded in death by his father, Orville McCoy of Matewan, W.Va. He is survived by his mother, Jo Ella McCoy, whom he treasured deeply. He is also survived by his sisters, Peggy McCoy, Sally (Terry) Edge and Nancy (Jerry) Francis; brothers, Gerald (Brenda), James H. (Creda Jane) and Charles McCoy. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Aimee McCoy; grandsons, Jordan, Zackaryah (Amanda) and Caimen Lewis; granddaughter, Makayla Christian; great grandson, Tyson Rey Lewis. He also proudly claimed his step-sons, Cory (Christy) and Victor (Sonya) Dulaney along with 3 additional grandchildren, Matthias, Jocelyn and Eli; best friends, J.C. Travis, J.R. Haller, Johnny Amos, Colette Jones and adopted grandchildren, Carleese and Carl Tinnery. The family will be accepting friends and relatives Thursday, July 30, 2009 from 4:00-7:00 PM at The Way of Deliverance Church, 1159 Demorest Rd Grove City and also on Friday, July 31, 2009 from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Johnny Amos, officiating. Interment will be in Galloway Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church for work of the ministry. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City.
