Rolland D. "Ron" Eddy, 78, Gahanna, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 23, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born in Canton, OH on August 29, 1934, to Darrell O. and Gladys (Hickman) Eddy and is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Paula (Yates) Eddy and sister Karen Faulk. Survivors include his daughter, Karen Eddy (Jeff) McVay; sons, David (Toni) Eddy and Gregg (Anne) Eddy; sister, Carole (Bill) Baxter; grandchildren, David II, Jackson, Regina, Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Ashley; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn (Gary) Frey; nieces, nephews, beloved cat, Janey and many friends.
Ron served in the US Army 1958-1960, worked in the banking industry for many years and upon retirement, visited many countries with his wife. Ron volunteered and loved working the Memorial Tournament since its inception in 1976.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2013, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231 with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Road, Dublin, OH 43017.
