McNAMEE, Rolland Eugene, age 83, passed away peacefully December 7, 2022. He was born January 24, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio to Grover C. McNamee, Sr. and Josie Belle (Cashdollar) of Fairfield County, Ohio. Army veteran 1962-1964 and military police officer. He married the love of his life Daphyne Sword, from Weeksbury, Kentucky, on November 24, 1962. They resided in Grove City, Ohio for fifty years. He was a retired fire sprinkler fitter (Local 669) and had recently received his 60-year continuous service award. He was co-founder of Columbus Fire Protection, Inc. (1975-1996) and retired from Grinnell Fire Protection in 2005. He then founded Grove City Backflow Service where he worked until his passing. He was a leader in all the right ways, and was revered in his industry of fire protection.
In leisure, Ronnie was a singer, bowler, golfer, builder; a man of many talents who excelled at every endeavor. Ronnie and Daphyne were members of their beloved Oakhurst Country Club and the Grove City Elks Lodge. He was an inspiration to his only son John Scott McNamee in all facets of life. He loved people, especially his family and grandchildren. He was jolly, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was a great conversationalist. He believed that good in life was earned and nothing was free. He was loved by everyone who met him.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and all ten of his siblings (Iris, William, Virgelia, Woodrow, Frank, Dorothy, Daisy, Grover Jr., Harry, and Charles). He is survived by his wife Daphyne, son John (Heather), and 4 grandchildren (Dylan, Devon, Sonja, Danica). His love was shared with countless relatives and friends.
Please join us in celebrating his life at Noon on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Visitation will begin at 12pm until time of memorial service at 2pm.
