Passed away February 5th at the age of 75 in Columbus, Ohio. His is predeceased by his parents Alex and Jean Brownlie. He is survived by his daughters Margo Brownlie, Tonya (Jeremy) Brownlie, Tabatha (Rick) Vogelsang, grandchildren Lauren (Adam) Jones, Megan (Clay) Weatherly, Jordan Brownlie, Roman (Sasha) Vogelsang, Brandon Hazlett, Nicholas Phelan and Nathan Phelan, great grandchildren Aiden Jones, Gaven Jones, Preston Jones and Reagan Weatherly, brother Gavin (Marietta) Brownlie, sister Isabel (Tom) McCaffrey, several nieces and nephews.
Ron served in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Purple Heart for his service in the Vietnam War and was an honoree of the first inaugural Honor Flight of Purple Heart recipients. Ron was a proud Scotsman who dearly loved his daughters and NHL Hockey! He was a retiree of Local 46 (Rochester, NY) and IBM in their Rochester and Columbus offices.
He will be missed by many special friends and neighbors, especially the "over-the-fence gang" whom his daughters hold dear in their hearts.
Per his request no memorial service will be held, however, please consider making a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project or a Veteran's organization of your choice.
