Ronald Lyle Pickett, 81, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord March 9, 2011. He was born August 25, 1929 in Salem, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents, Enos and Gladys Pickett; and siblings, Norman, Francis and Benjamin. Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Mary Jane; children, Stephen (Karen) Pickett, Barry (Brenda) Pickett, Jeff Pickett, Victor Tracy (Traci) Pickett and Rhonda (Douglas) Vaughn; siblings, Dorothy Hawn and Fred Pickett; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lyle was a loyal member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 98/24 for over 50 years. He was a dedicated dancer of the Mid Western Cloggers for over 25 years dancing throughout the U.S. and Europe. His joy was seeing any of his 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Lyle is a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S Army. He was a friend to all and never met a stranger and will be sadly missed by his wife, family and many friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH, 43123. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Monday, March 14, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial at Grove City Cemetery.
