Ronald D. Miller, age 71, of Powell, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord, 6:12 p.m., Friday, November 5, 2021. He was born March 31, 1950, in Lima, Ohio, the son of the late John Lawrence and Pearl Arizona Roberts Miller.
Ronald was an alumnus of Lima Senior High School and later graduated from what is now known as James A. Rhodes State College. After graduating, Ronald was hired as an industrial engineer for Scot Lad Foods, which was eventually sold to Roundy's and then to the Nash Finch Company. During this time, he was promoted to Vice President of Operations.
Ronald was a builder. In his younger years, he famously built three family homes. Ronald was also famous for the desserts he made every holiday. Recently, Ronald discovered a passion for genealogy. He loved sharing the discoveries he made about family history. And with a family as big as Ronald's, there were many discoveries to share!
Survivors include two daughters –Regina Danielle Moreland of Powell, Ohio, and Natasha N. (Dan) Swartwout of Powell, Ohio; two grandchildren – Benjamin Joseph Moreland and Elizabeth Ann Swartwout; sister Helen Gross of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by seven brothers – Eldon Miller, Robert Miller, John Miller, Donald Miller, Roger Miller, Larry Miller, Richard Miller; seven sisters – Marcella Pitchford, Betty Eberle, Ruth Miller, Mary Miller, Carolyn Miller, Erma Gross, and Shirley Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, at Newcomer Northwest Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, Ohio 43065. It is requested that visitors please wear masks. A private burial service will follow the next day.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association.
