Ronald Lee Woods, affectionately known as "Pap," passed away on February 22, 2025. Born on August 16, 1945, Ron led a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his family and friends. The Lord blessed us with the most amazing husband, dad, grandpa & great grandpa in the world and for that we are incredibly thankful. He set the ultimate example for all of us to follow as we maneuver through this life.
Ronald was a vibrant soul who was always smiling and could light up a room with his humor. He was a true math wiz and had a sharp mind that he often used to help others. His thoughtful nature allowed him to frequently check in on loved ones, ensuring they were doing well and taken care of.
He embraced life's simple pleasures; whether it was fishing, enjoying the thrill of OSU football and basketball games, or meandering through yard sales and flea markets, Ron poured his passions into everything he did. For over 20 years, he cherished fishing trips to Rice Lake and camping adventures with family that created memories lasting a lifetime.
Ron took immense pride in the life he built together with Ann, his devoted wife of 62 years. Together, they nurtured a loving family and he found true joy in making breakfast for his great grandchildren and spending quality time with them before school, or sneaking away to Tee Jaye's for a barn yard buster. He never missed an opportunity to support his grandson and great grandkids sporting events or being a five star Uber driver to his great grandkids.
He leaves behind a loving family that includes his wife, Ann Woods, daughter Julia (Duke) Anderson, grandson Josh (Patti) Anderson, great-grandson Oakley Anderson, and great-granddaughter Ivy Anderson. His sisters Janice Hughes, Sharon (John) Ward, and Teresa (Ed) Patton also hold his memory dear. He had so many very special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends that will miss him dearly, too. Ron shared a special bond with his close friend, Joe Neil, whose friendship added another layer of joy to his life.
Ronald will be fondly remembered not only for his cheerful spirit but also for his enduring contributions and the love he shared. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Woods, mother, Irene Woods, brother-in-law, Ronnie Hughes, and siblings Donna Dearth, Jimmy Woods, Bobby Woods, Joyce Woods, and Larry Woods.
A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City on March 2, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a visitation at Hamilton Church in Oak Hill on March 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, leading into the funeral service at the same location at 1:00 PM.
Ronald Lee Woods left us with countless cherished memories, and his legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who knew him.
