Rosa ("Rose") Lee Flaherty
Rose Flaherty of Columbus, Ohio, passed away May 22, 2022, bringing to close a special life of 70 beautiful and memorable years. Rose was born on December 27, 1951, to the late Robert and Ruby Bobst (Jones). She was a graduate of Hamilton Township High School Class of 1969.
Rose married her wonderful husband, Michael R. Flaherty, in 1970, and the two spent more than 52 years together raising their family and supporting one another. Rose will be remembered as a loving wife, caring mother, and grandmother.
Rose enjoyed traveling and was an avid country music fan. Rose and her Aunt Nancy had many special memories of enjoying the country music group Alabama. One of her greatest joys was watching her grandchildren's activities such as volleyball, football, basketball, theatre, soccer, cross country, and taekwondo.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael; sons, Michael (Dionna) Flaherty and Shawn Flaherty (Amy Reid); daughter Julie (Leon) Dailey. Rose adored her nine grandchildren Raven Flaherty (Zachary Davis), Erina (Carl) Davis, Kiera Flaherty, Courtney (Andy) Harper, Makenna Flaherty, Carson Isaac (Camerin Allen), Gavin Flaherty, Kale Flaherty, and Michael Dailey. Great-grandchildren Scarlett Sayre, Willow Davis, Elliott Davis, Oliver Davis, Tanner Harper, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A special mention goes to her best friend of 62 years, Bonnie Davisson. Her siblings are Lola (Dave) Thomas, Tammy Hawthorne, Tim (Kim) Bobst, Chuck (Dawn) Bobst, and Laura Bobst.
Rose is preceded in death by her siblings Roberta Honaker, Dallas Bobst, Robert Bobst, and Aunt Nancy Raines.
The family would like to thank the hospice staff at Doctor's Hospital for their exceptional care and support.
Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel will host funeral proceedings at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio, 43123. Visitors may attend calling hours on Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 5 PM to 8 PM. The funeral service will be held at Newcomer SW Chapel on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10 AM. Reverend Ron Reese will officiate. Interment will occur immediately thereafter at Fernwood Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio.
