Rosanne Nora (Randazzo) Sohn of Powell, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, April 16th, 2022. She was the beloved wife and soulmate of Philip Sohn. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and stepmother. She was born in Buffalo, NY on August 30th, 1961, the eldest daughter of the late May Carol Perrello and Salvatore Joseph Randazzo and Josephine (Nigro) Randazzo. She was the cherished sister of Joseph Randazzo, Jeannemarie Packard, and Stephanie Randazzo Dwyer, a devoted aunt to Charles, Genevieve and Sydney Packard and Grace and Lucia Dwyer and a loving stepmother to Megan, Joseph and Aiden Sohn.
Rosanne is an alumni of Williamsville East High School class of 1979 where she made many lifelong friends. She matriculated at Canisius College and went on to receive a Master's Degree in Public Administration from The Ohio State University. Rosanne devoted her entire career to the State of Ohio. First working for the Bureau of Workers Compensation and then for the Industrial Commission as Deputy Director of Claims Support. In 2020, after 36 years of dedicated service, Rosanne quietly retired. The friends and colleagues that she compassionately served and led became her second family. She was a mentor to many, a wonderful colleague and friend.
Eight years ago Rosanne met her angel, Philip, who would forever change her life. They expanded each other's worlds in immeasurable ways, creating a loving environment for both to blossom and experience life with a totally new outlook. They traveled extensively together, whether it was a trip to Jamaica to hear her favorite band Jackson Brown or to Waynesville, Ohio to hunt for antiques to contribute to their eclectic collection of arrow heads and bunnies. They also enjoyed the simple things in life like sitting in the back yard, enjoying the sun and the wildlife, talking and entertaining friends and family.
Rosanne was the most devoted and loving aunt to her five nieces and nephew. There was no life milestone missed whether it was a christening, confirmation, dance recital, or sporting event. When she couldn't be there physically she would consistently send messages, cards and texts of support. The shelves in her home were filled with photos beaming with pride as if they were her own.
Rosanne was a beautiful person inside and out. Her contagious laugh and radiant smile would light up the room. Rosanne was a lover of all animals, she will be greatly missed by her puppy Charlie and her cat Sophia. From the random person in a store to the handmade care packages for family and friends – her empathy and compassion for others was endless. Everyone she met was an instant friend.
A celebration of Rosanne's life will be Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 9:00 – 11:00 am at Newcomer Northwest Columbus Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH. A memorial mass will be held immediately following.
