Rose Anna Burt

January 2, 1942 — June 1, 2023

Rose Anna Burt, 81, died Thursday June 1st, 2023 at her Galloway home, after a long battle with advanced COPD. She died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family.

Rose was born January 2, 1942 in Columbus, OH., to Charles and Dorothea Kimes.
Rose lived her life to the fullest and was a devout Catholic who drew great comfort and solace from her faith. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help where she attended Mass regularly before her illness.

Rose was an ambitious woman who pursued her passion for service with unparalleled dedication and commitment. She spent over two decades with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she retired. She was highly respected by her colleagues and peers.

After her retirement, Rose was happy "playing in the dirt" as she would say. She was passionate about gardening and enjoyed spending time tending to her yard and watching her beautiful flowers grow. Her love of gardening brought her great joy and she took pride in her accomplishments. She also loved cooking for her family and friends, who enjoyed many delicious meals over the years.

However, what defined Rose the most was her unwavering love for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who always put the needs of others before her own. She was the embodiment of love, sacrifice, strength, and courage. Her caring and generous spirit touched the lives of countless people, and she will be missed by all that knew her.

Rose is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Burt; children, Dale (Connie) Smith, Grace (Michael) Strahl, Robert Burt Jr.; step-children, Cindy (Gary) McKuin, Donna Morgan, Michele (Michael) Keagy; grandchildren, Dale Smith Jr, Robert Burt III, Brooke Burt, Brayden Burt, Philip Strahl, and Tyler Burt; step-grandchildren, Jeremy McKuin, Joey Smith, Trent Morgan, Misty Morgan, Desirea Madatian, Jessica Melton, Madyson Keagy and Keira Keagy; sisters, Barbara Cloud and Sherry Boggs; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Woods; step-children, Michael Smith and Mark Smith; sister, Bonnie Persinger, and her parents.

She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire and guide all those who knew her. May her soul be forever at peace in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Our thanks and appreciation to everyone at Ohio Health Hospice and Kobacker House for the care and attention they provided.
