Rose Ferguson

Rose Mary Ferguson, age 81, of Columbus, Ohio died in her home unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Rose was born on March 4, 1941, the daughter of Julia Shoemaker and Thomas Vandelier. She was a lifetime resident of Columbus and graduate of Central High School. She recently retired after working for the Secretary of State's office for over 30 years.

Rose loved spending her time in her gardens and had a green thumb that could make anything grow. She loved cooking, canning, and baking and made many cakes for friends and family's special occasions. She loved being a grandma and made each grandchild feel important. She put others before herself and always looked for ways to help those around her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, James Ferguson of Columbus, Ohio. Her children, Star Richardson, Theresa Given, Michael (Marcia) Given; daughter-in-law, Margaret Hess-Given and stepdaughters, Carol Given and Sherry Stover. She adored her 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and couldn't stop talking about the other 2 great-grandchildren that were on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia Shoemaker and Thomas Vandelier; and her son, Christopher Given.
